Classic and Timeless Adventure Wedding in Rapid City, SD

Every so often I have the privilege of working with a couple that I feel super aligned and connected with. From our earliest communications, I knew Rachel & Ben were going to be a joy to work alongside. Rachel let me know right away that she and Ben loved that Black Hills and really wanted to show off the gorgeous scenery of the area on their wedding day. If you know me, you know I was all in with her ideas. Not only did we connect on our love of the Black Hills, but we also both happened to live in Sioux Falls! This worked out perfectly as we were able to meet up in January for their engagement session. I was already pretty excited to work with these two at that point, but after meeting them, I was sure it was going to be a fun few months prepping and planning their day. They were also major troopers for their freezing cold engagement session and I absolutely love when couples are down to make sacrifices for beautiful photos!

Luckily, their wedding day graced us with the most beautiful weather. Black Hills Receptions was the perfect backdrop for their festivities and despite some cloudiness and a few raindrops throughout the day, the dreamiest golden light streamed through the trees for their entire ceremony. Their entire wedding day was so beautiful and just what this adventure-loving photographer needed. It was relaxed and slow-paced, and the two of them got to spend lots of time together. Not to mention the other vendors they hired were amazing!

I also have to say that Rachel and Ben are the sweetest, most easy-going, and organized couple I’ve met. The two of them make such a great pair and throughout this process, I got to see exactly why the two of them work so well together. I also got to see how happy and in-love they were, and I truly just adore them. Rachel & Ben - thank you both for everything! Cheers to a beautiful marriage.
