Spring Engagement Session in Sioux falls, South Dakota

Sydney and Duane’s engagement session happened to land on one of the most beautiful spring days. In the week leading up to their session, I practically willed the trees around Sioux Falls to bloom. For whatever reason, this year’s winter seemed to last forever and the greenery was slow to come in. As a photographer who adores natural scenes, I was DYING to shoot with some greenery and spring blossoms. Thankfully, spring delivered just in time! I was ecstatic that not only were the parks around Sioux Falls gorgeous, but we had the most beautiful weather.

The three of us started the session in Cherry Rock Park to take advantage of the beautiful cherry blossom trees. I adore how the pops of pink look in their photos. They also wanted to make a pit stop between locations for a mini “adventure” by stopping for ice cream. It was a perfect break for them during their session and they had so much fun with it! After that, we made our way to the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum. The flowers, pond, and waterfall at the arboretum were perfect and the pictures we took there are my absolute favorite of the entire session! We then drove up the road to finish our session at Arrowhead Park for golden hour and it did not disappoint.

I loved getting to spend more time getting to know these two during their engagement session. They were both genuinely so present the whole time and I think they had a lot of fun. And I did too! I can’t wait for their wedding in October. It’s going to be the best.
